# KindSpend

> KindSpend is a UK card-linked giving service. Shoppers link the debit or credit card they already use, choose the charities or causes they care about, and shop normally. When they pay at participating partner businesses, the partner funds a donation to their chosen causes, at no extra cost to the shopper. KindSpend is pre-launch: the platform has been built and tested over 18 months, and a verified community waitlist is now open to UK shoppers.

- Brand line: "Making generosity simple." Product line: "Shop normally. Give automatically."
- How it works: link your card once, choose your causes, pay as usual at KindSpend partner businesses, the partner funds a donation, and you can see your impact.
- Free for shoppers to join and use. Nothing is added to what shoppers pay. KindSpend plans to keep a small share of each partner-funded donation to run the service.
- No shopping portal, affiliate link, browser extension or checkout code needed. This is the main difference from shopping-portal fundraising sites.
- Status: not yet live. Card networks need to see an active community before connecting a new service, so KindSpend is building a verified waitlist first. Joining needs only an email address; no card details are collected on the website.
- Safety: card details are handled by a card-linking provider certified to PCI DSS Level 1 and turned into a secure token; KindSpend never holds full card numbers. KindSpend only learns the partner, amount and date of purchases at KindSpend partners; it cannot see full card numbers, bank accounts or other spending, and cannot take payments. Personal data is handled under UK GDPR.

- Founder: Matthew Orton, a lead software engineer with more than 20 years of experience.
- Operator: KindSpend is a trading name of Oak Woodland Ltd, a UK company.
- Partner businesses and charities are only named publicly once they have agreed. No partners or charities are publicly confirmed yet.
